He obtained French Law Degree (DEUG), Bachelor's Degree in Law, Master’s Degree in European Community Law, and Ph.D. in Public Law from Université Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV, all passed with honours (Summa Cum Laude).
His Ph.D. thesis “L’ Union européenne et l’ordre international de l’aviation civile – La contribution de l’Union européenne aux évolutions contemporaines du droit aérien international” was awarded with the 2013 Thesis Prize of the University of Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV, the 2014 Thesis Prize of the Société française de droit aérien et spatial and was published in 2014 at Bruylant-Larcier.
In 2014, Prof. Dr. Correia obtained highest academic-rank qualification in law (agrégé des facultés de droit), after passing competitive national test (National rank: 6th).
Prof. Dr. Vincent Correia is Professor of Public Law at Université Paris-Saclay, France and Visiting Professor at the International Institute of Air and Space Law (IIASL) of the Leiden University, the Netherlands.
From 2007 to 2013 he was also a Lecturer at Université Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV, France.
Prof. Dr. Correia lectures on international aviation law (market access, competition, liability & air passengers’ rights, safety, and environmental protection), EU law, EU aviation law, external aviation relations of the EU, European economic law, public international law, constitutional law, and administrative law.
In 2009 he worked as a trainee in the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
In 2010 he worked as a Counselor to the President on the rights of air passengers in the Union of Regional Autonomous Airlines (SCARA), France, and as a trainee in the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
He is a member of the board of the European Air Law Association (EALA) and Chairman of the Academic Committee, a member of the International Law Association (ILA), a member of the board of the Société française de droit aérien et spatial (SFDAS) and a member of the CEDECE-Association d'Etudes Européennes (CEDECE).
