In 1973 he graduated from the Ordzhonikidze Moscow Aviation Institute (now – Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University) with a degree in mechanical engineer of air-breathing engines.
Until 1989, he worked at the Moscow machine-building plant "Avangard", dealt with issues of service life and reliability of aviation equipment.
Since 1989, he has been dealing with the creation, production, operation of thermal manned balloons.
Since 1993, he has been in charge of RUSBAL Scientific and Production Enterprise, which currently produces more than 30 hot air balloons per year. All balloon products have Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Licenses for the right to manufacture and repair; Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee Certificates (IAC) of the developer, type and manufacturer; Federal Air Transport Agency Certificates for carrying out work on conformity assessment and for performing maintenance.
Repeatedly participated in the commissions of the IAC and the transport prosecutor's office to investigate accidents with hot air balloons.
He was directly involved in the development of the airworthiness standards for manned balloons (AP-31) and the draft Federal Aviation Regulations (ФАП-31).
He is the developer of programs approved by the Federal Air Transport Agency for the training of pilots of free balloons and specialists in the maintenance of hot air balloons.
Until 2016, he had a Flight Instructor License.
